Bicentennial Barn & Event Center

Preservation Parks of Delaware County

Conversion of 19th-century barn into welcome/event center for McCammon Creek Park.

Overview

The Delaware County Bicentennial Barn—one of the 88 historic barns painted to celebrate the Ohio bicentennial in 2003—is set to become the focal point of the new masterplan for McCammon Creek Park in Lewis Center, Ohio, which includes plans for multi-use paths through forests and fields, playgrounds, and an access point on Alum Creek.

We are rebuilding the barn on a new foundation and designing additions to the structure so that it may function as an event/welcome center for the park. The addition houses restrooms, a catering kitchen, and a storage space.
