Maren joined Schooley Caldwell after graduating from Miami University with a Bachelor’s degree in Architecture in 2018. Over the past 4 summers she helped her father (also an architect) with the restoration of the local Frank Lloyd Wright apprentice house, Glenbrow.
During her senior year at Miami University she participated in the architecture department’s Over-the-Rhine residency program in Cincinnati. The experience further developed her interest in historic preservation, adaptive re-use and affordable housing.
After completing the residency program, Maren entered a design competition for an infill building in the historic Over-the-Rhine (OtR) neighborhood. Maren was awarded 2nd place in the competition, competing against registered architects and both local and international firms. Her design proposal now is being used as an example of new development in Over-the-Rhine within the set of strict construction guidelines developed by the OtR Foundation.
In her spare time, Maren enjoys architectural photography, Urban exploration, playing with her dog, drawing, reading and listening to music.
