Schooley Caldwell designed renovations to the 10-story, 237,000 SF Hall of Justice. The building was vacated in 2011 when the new Common Pleas Courthouse was completed, and was renovated into a multi-tenant support building for the county government complex. It houses the Common Pleas Court’s adult probation unit and the Franklin County Law Library. The building is also anticipated to house future needs as the county’s population grows.

The work included removal of asbestos and other hazardous materials; fireproofing; new building systems including heating and cooling, plumbing and electrical; roof replacement; elevator upgrades; a new curtain wall; and interior construction/new finishes.

The project was completed in 2014, on schedule and on budget. Schooley Caldwell has also completed other related work for Franklin County – we developed the Master Plan for their facilities and designed the new entry pavilion that ties together the existing complex with the new courthouse building.
